SES LiveProfessional adds more Electro-Voice systems at Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter

“The venue already has a superb installation of Sx600’s in the covered horse arena and adjoining horse barn,” says Stapleton, “and those systems sound so good that the other barns were lacking in comparison. George Neal with the GNFA contacted me to discuss bringing these other spaces up to scratch. Having recently installed a large LED screens in each of these barns and arenas, it was time to upgrade the sound to deliver the same audible impact as the visual elements.”

 

Stapleton has continued to be impressed with the Sx600 since first hearing it about three years ago at the Telex Communications Academy in Atlanta, held for installation contractors. “The coverage and clarity the Sx600 offers is incredible,” he says; “I’ve installed them at theme parks and high school football fields—in terms of throw and intelligibility, these boxes defy physics. When I visited the fairgrounds, I took a trip over to the covered horse arena to remind myself of the Sx600. Once again I was totally in awe, and with that the decision was simple: stick to what works and continue the install with Sx600s.”

 

Stapleton and his client walked through all six of the spaces to be addressed and drew up a spec featuring a total of 26 Sx600s, with some buildings receiving two, four, or six elements, all powered and processed by a total of seven CP4000S amps and six Dx38s. “Dx38s are so easy to navigate,” Stapleton says, “and the sonic transparency is incredible, making it an obvious choice as the processor for these systems. The lightweight CP4000S amps deliver a ton of punch to the Sx600’s dual 12” woofers and 2” driver. George Neal and his crew handled all the mounting and wiring of the boxes, and all that was left for me to do was wire the processors and amplifiers and tune up each system. Now the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter has unrivalled sound quality and probably the loudest barns and arenas in the country!”
